Quick-Start Installation Guide
Get your machine ready for the official v1.0 beta dropping this Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Step 1: System Requirements
Ensure you are running Windows 11 (AMD64) with 4GB+ RAM and an active internet connection for model routing.
Step 2: Get Your Free Gemini API Key
Head to Google AI Studio and generate a free API key. Ghosthread uses this key to power its cognitive reasoning engine.
Step 3: First-Launch Wizard Onboarding
When you launch GhosthreadAI.exe, the first-launch wizard (`first_launch_wizard.py`) will prompt you to:
- Name your AI assistant instance (e.g. Ghosthread, Jarvis, Friday).
- Enter your personal user nickname.
- Input and live-test your Gemini API key.
- Select your neural Text-to-Speech voice and Push-to-Talk hotkey.
Step 4: Command Palette & Floating HUD
Press Ctrl + R for Push-to-Talk voice commands, or type / inside the command deck to trigger instant macros and saved tactical commands.
