Acceptable Use Policy

This document explains, in plain English, what Ghosthread is designed for — and what it explicitly refuses to do. It exists because we want to be transparent about our boundaries, and because respecting third-party terms of service is a shared responsibility.
The one-sentence version
Ghosthread is a productivity tool for legitimate desktop automation on computers you own or are authorized to use — and it will refuse to operate in environments where that would violate laws, third-party terms of service, or common-sense ethical boundaries.
What Ghosthread is for
- • Automating repetitive work on your own machine.
- • Organizing your own files and folders.
- • Reading your own screen for errors, code, and text.
- • Managing your own notifications, media, and system settings.
- • Handling your own messages and communications.
- • Diagnosing problems in your own development environment.
- • Any task where you have the legal and contractual right to automate.
What Ghosthread refuses to do
1. Games and anti-cheat software
Ghosthread detects and refuses to operate alongside any game or anti-cheat process. This is not a suggestion — the software actively pauses or declines to launch when it detects these environments. Attempting to bypass this restriction is a violation of our Terms of Service and will result in termination of your access.
This protects you from account bans, protects game developers from unfair play, and protects us from legal liability. It is non-negotiable.
2. Banking and financial systems
Ghosthread will not automate banking portals, payment processors, brokerage accounts, or cryptocurrency exchanges where such automation is prohibited by the platform's terms of service. Even where allowed, we strongly discourage it — you are responsible for any consequences.
3. Systems you don't own
You may not use Ghosthread to automate access to any system, account, or resource that you do not own or have explicit written authorization to access. This includes remote systems, corporate networks you're not authorized to automate, and any third-party infrastructure.
4. Harmful, illegal, or deceptive activity
You may not use Ghosthread for: harassment, spam, fraud, phishing, malware distribution, bypassing security controls, violating privacy laws, or any activity that harms other people or violates applicable law.
5. Circumventing DRM or access controls
Ghosthread must not be used to bypass digital rights management, license checks, access controls, or any protection mechanism on software, media, or services you do not have the rights to access.
6. Reverse engineering Ghosthread itself
You may not decompile, reverse engineer, extract source code, or repackage Ghosthread for redistribution without explicit written permission.
Third-party terms of service
Many applications and services have their own terms of service that restrict or prohibit automation. Examples include (but aren't limited to) some messaging platforms, social networks, financial services, and online marketplaces.
It is your responsibility to review and comply with the terms of service of every application and service you automate with Ghosthread. We do not monitor, enforce, or take responsibility for your compliance with third-party terms.
If you are unsure whether a specific use case is permitted, contact the platform directly before automating.
What happens if you violate this policy
- • Your access may be suspended or terminated immediately, without refund.
- • Your actions may be reported to relevant authorities where required by law.
- • You may be held personally liable for any harm caused by your violation.
Good-faith ambiguity
If you have a legitimate use case that falls into a gray area — for example, automating a piece of software whose terms you're unsure about — reach out before using Ghosthread for it. We'll try to help you figure out a safe path.
